Rubing Li
Rubing Li is a graduate student at George Mason University pursuing a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. She has over twenty years of experience working with children, adolescents, and families through homeschooling communities and public schools, giving her a strong understanding of children’s varied needs and the challenges parents may face.
Rubing’s approach is grounded in Child-Centered Play Therapy (CCPT), Attachment Theory, and Polyvagal Theory. She believes healing begins with empathy, trust, and a strong therapeutic relationship. She creates a safe and supportive environment where children can express themselves through play, art, and conversation while helping families build connection, resilience, and emotional well-being.
Growing up in China and fluent in Mandarin, Rubing values the role of culture and family traditions in shaping identity and relationships. As someone who has experienced navigating between cultures, she strives to create a warm, culturally sensitive space where children and families feel seen, supported, and connected.
Rubing is also a mother of two young men and enjoys spending time with family, friends, and their dog, Milo. In her free time, she loves gardening, which continually reminds her of the healing, growth, and resilience that exist within every person.
