Jessica Yun, MSW

Jessica Yun, MSW works with children, adolescents, and families navigating trauma, anxiety, attachment disruptions, grief and loss, depression, ADHD, Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD), and social-emotional challenges. She is passionate about helping families improve communication, resolve conflicts, and strengthen relationships to support children’s healthy social and emotional development. Jessica brings extensive experience as a Human Services Clinician in adoption and foster care, as well as in school social work, where she supported children and caregivers in navigating complex family dynamics and strengthening therapeutic relationships. Her work has included promoting healthy connections between birth parents, adoptive parents, and adoptees, with a focus on attachment, emotional regulation, and adjustment following early adverse experiences. She is currently earning supervision hours toward clinical licensure in Social Work. 

Jessica utilizes developmentally appropriate, trauma-informed interventions and incorporates skills from Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), as well as Person-Centered Therapy to support children and adolescents in building self-awareness and emotional regulation. Jessica completed a Trauma Fellowship through George Mason University’s College of Health and Human Services and is a recipient of the Child Welfare Stipend Program. Through these experiences, she received clinical training in trauma-informed care and specialized in child welfare practice to promote improved outcomes for children, youth, and families.

Jessica believes in creating a safe and supportive therapeutic environment where children can explore their emotions, build confidence, and strengthen secure connections. She values a non-directive, humanistic approach in which clients are supported in leading the therapeutic process,recognizing them as the experts of their own experiences.

Jessica continues to expand her knowledge of therapeutic theories and modalities as she works toward earning her Registered Play Therapist credential.
